Happy 5th Anniversary YayPay!

Happy 5th Anniversary

5 years ago today, we co-founded YayPay in London and incorporated our business in the United States. I started out with Saul Frank and later Brian Denenberg and then with Eugene Vyborov who is my co-founder and our CTO today.

Apart from my own capital, our first investment came from friends. The original cheque from Virginia Cha – a Professor of innovation and entrepreneurship at major universities like INSEAD and later professor emeritus of YayVersity. Soon after that Brian Denenberg, Mark Moses and Don Schiavone – both CEO coaches extraordinaire, entrepreneur and X-Prize board member Sony Mordechai, and respected super angel Michael Mark. We received support from visionaries such as Jason Green and Lars Leckie, organizations such as TechStars, 500 Startups, the Partnership for New York City, the LGBT angel and advocacy group - Gaingels, Zelkova, Aspect, QED, Birchmere, Fifth Third Bank, Information Venture Partners, Runway and angels from Europe, North America and Asia. Thank you for funding our dream into a reality!

It’s both challenging and fascinating work creating something from nothing. In the early days we really ground it out. We failed, stood up, brushed ourselves off and iterated until we found a product market fit. Now we are ranked as a major player in our industry by IDC!

Creating and bringing a company like YayPay with our product of intelligent accounts receivables automation to market has been a magnificent obsession for myself, Eugene and our Yay-team. YayPay has succeeded and became the company it is today because of our amazing R&D, sales, customer success and operations teams in the Ukraine, US and UK.

I want to mention our first employees who busted through walls to make it. Thank you Manoj Jonna, Mitch DeForest and also to Illya Dubinsky who is still a big part of our story today in Kyiv.

To our board members over these years like Thomas Kramer, Rob Antoniades, Ned Renzi and Matt Risley, we are grateful and thank you. To our management -  Nicole Dwyer, Anthony Lopresti, Tim Teeter, Zain Mesquita and Veronica Grace we thank you.

To my co-founder - Eugene Vyborov. I would walk through walls for you. You have done that for me many times. I am so lucky to work with you and call you my friend.

To our customers and users. You are the reason that we are here. Over 150 B2B mid-market customers with over 3,000 users in over 20 countries. We will never rest in our quest to create for you the best accounts receivables automation software on the planet.

On our 5th Anniversary, we thank you for an amazing journey to date.

Watch this space for the next part of our journey!
